Description:

100% wool knotted on a cotton foundation. This is a Kashan carpet woven in the Persian city of Kashan, located just south of Tehran and Qom. The medallion, field and corners (spandrels) are decorated in the Mahi or "fish" design. The medallion is navy, the field is a deep red and the corners are navy. It has 4 guard borders and one main border. The main border is colored in gold and is filled with realistically drawn flowers and small squares of light blue, red and black.
