Harmonious Visions: Reflections on Nature Through the Fabric of Sight and Sound
Molly Morkoski, piano / Liuh-Wen Ting, viola / Barry Crawford, flute

What do composers and artists talk about when they talk about the natural world? Harmonious Visions is a multi-artist, immersive experience inspired by the evanescent beauty of nature. This absorbing encounter between art and music features Between Here and Not Here, a new work by composer Frances White and artist James Toia, in which water imagery is projected on ephemeral materials that vanish as a receding tide. John Glover’s Life Cycles swathes the audience in live performance and manipulated field recordings set against the large-scale paintings of Mark Mastroianni as captured by video artist Rob Dietz.

Program: Glover, Mastroianni, and Dietz / Life Cycles (2012) // White and Toia / Between Here and Not Here (2016)

Tickets: This is a free event, but tickets are required and can be obtained through our ticket office. A suggested donation of $10 will benefit Lafayette College Art Galleries, co-sponsor of this event.
Jim Toia is director of community-based teaching at Lafayette, and his projected video includes images from rivers.
