COVID-19 has left the world in mourning: mourning a loss of freedom, of experiences yet to come, and most importantly the sudden loss of lives of loved ones, acquaintances, and strangers who have fallen prey to this deadly and extremely contagious disease. For Tori Schoen and her classmates, COVID-19 also has brought the loss of their senior year of college, a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things, but a devastating loss nonetheless.
As Schoen’s life shifted from the exciting fast-paced world of college to the mundane and dreary life of quarantine, she pivoted her thesis project to reflect the world we live in now. As she so often does with most hard-to-swallow pills, Schoen uses humor to address and make light of the reality we currently face. She hopes that in viewing this project you will be able to smile, relax, and feel a little less alone during this lonely time for all.
