The Septem

Seven is profane to the brain. Our quick-thinking heuristics cannot count past four. They can barely comprehend numbers that aren’t round–multiples of five and two. 

In this work, Clark engages in a performance piece where he uses no other system of time but the Septem for two weeks. Harnessing the intuitive incompatibility of the Septem, Clark’s work asks the question: What is it like to relearn time?
